13. I think that Bryon should have known a long time before he found out. For example, in the hippie house where they found M&M. In the crib, there were plenty of drugs and clearly people only knew who Marc was because he was selling pills. Also, Bryon should have noticed that his ''brother'' never ever told him where he got his money from. He should've had doubts. Bryon and Mark were always doing everything together and Bryon knew exactly who Mark would hang out with. The moment they were less close to eachother, he started having friends or contacts that Bryon never knew he had. He was way to gullible.

14. In my opinion, I believe that Bryon called the cops on Mark because he was tired of everything going on. He clearly just paniked on the spot. The morning after he asks himself why he would do such a thing to somebody who means a whole lot to him. He didn't even have an answer to it. Maybe he thought that Mark was the one who sold the drugs to M&M even though he denied it. I just think that Bryon was feeling depressed about everything going on with his life and wanted to move on, have new begining.

15. I believe that their relationship ended because of Mark. I feel like the only valid reason why he turned Mark in was because of Cathy. Before doing so, Bryon was in love with her and he started to feel that the most important person to keep in his life was her. However, when his brother was gone, he realised that he made a pretty big mistake and automatically started to dislike Cathy because he did that for the health of their relationship. From there on, Bryon missed his ''brother'' and never ever saw Cathy the same way because he found out the hard way that Mark was more important to him than she was to him.

16. I personally did not like the ending at all. I feel like everything collapsed way to rapidly. Also, I would have loved for everyrthing to work out fine between everybody. I hate the fact that Mark finished in prison and that Bryon was alone and depressed. For me, the ending was not predictable at all. We all knew there were problems and fights between the characters but I always thought that it would finish happily. Nevertheless, we could have forshadowed the ending by taking note how Mark was getting farther and father away from Bryon. They were hardly even close anymore and we could feel their relationship go from good to bad.

17. I truly believe that Bryon did not do the right thing at all by calling the police on Mark. He should have known that his feeling of love towards Cathy were going to be temporary. Also, he had no right to do that to Mark because he knew that Mark would have stopped selling drugs if he did not support it or like it. Mark was a great brother to him and he always did his best to make Bryon happy. I find it terrible how Bryon made such a huge and awful decision based on such temporary feelings of hatred. Bryon will definetly regret that decision for the rest of his life.

9- I think that Bryon's mother did not raise the boys good enough. I completely agree that a mother should give a certain amount of liberty to their children but Bryon and Mark got that liberty too early. I find that it is irresponsible to raise kids that way. Because the two boys were showed to life in the streets at such a young age, I believe that they picked up bad habbits from bad people. Beating people up and getting caught for auto theft is not suppose to happen at such a young age. On the other hand, Bryon's mother raised both of the kids on her own which makes it more understandable that she did not get a second opinion about her decisions towards her loved ones.

10- To start off, I do not agree at all with Mark. He does not realise that so many things happened to him during his childhood up until now. His parents passed away, he saw Charlie getting shot to death right next to him etc... I think that Mark never wants to aknowledge what he has been through so he keeps saying that when you are young it is all about fun and games when it really isn't. I believe and hope that he realises soon enough that horrible events happened in his past and that he needs to make a change in his behaviour for it to not have an impact on him for his futur.

11- This quote becomes prophetic because Mark never forgives and certainly never forgets when somebody  hurts him. In this case, even though Angela was feeling helpless and lonely, Mark, jumped to the occasion to hurt her. Because of Angela, with the whole Curtis situation, he could have been killed! Even though she is not the person that hurt him, he knows that she caused a lot of trouble to himself and his ''brother'' to get his revenge. On the bad side, Mark did not think about the consequences to his action and could get his brother beat up.

12- In my opinion, I believe that Mark knows where to find M&M because he has more friends and connections that Bryon ever knew about. I also think that Mark knows the place because that ''money'' that he makes is from drug dealing or something like that. We knew that M&M went somewhere sketchy and the fact that Mark knows a place like that, for me, confirms that he has friends and/or contacts that he tries to keep away from his brother. Anyhow, we will need to keep reading to know the exact reason why Mark knew where M&M was! :)

6- In my opinon I was surprised with Charlie's death. When the Texans had the boys in the alley, I would think that Charlie would save them and everybody would arrive home safely. I was positive that the relationship between Mark, Bryon and Charlie would grow after the incident. I did not think that Charlie would pass away. I think that because of the tragedy, Bryon and Mark become stronger mentally and are able to relate to things even more than before. Their relationship is stronger and stronger even though Mark, especially, is still tripping after what happened.

7- I believe that there is starting to be jealousy on Mark's part. Bryon and Cathy's love is growing quickly and because of that Mark does not appreciate Cathy that much. Mark feels like he's loosing Bryon to Cathy and does not want to accept the fact that they're growing up and things change. In a way, Mark and Cathy are fighting for Bryon's atention, love and support so this leads to tension between both of them. Mark absolutely hates the fact that Bryon is changing so in a way he blames it on Cathy. Not a good relationship betwwen both of them.

8- I think that M&M runs away because he is tired of his life at home. His dad treats him terribly and the marijuana use is not helping their relationship. I believe that M&M feels way better when he is out with his new gang of friends than at home with his family. His new gang of friends are definitely influencing him of not going back to home and to stay with them. Also, I think that M&M needed a change in his life. He was dead tired of life at home feeling like nobody loved him so he left to be with people that do. Who knows, maybe the fact that Cathy and Bryon love eachother might also annoy him.

4- Several events occured which gave us some insight about Mark and Bryon's relationship. To start off, when Mark got knocked out by Angela's friend, Bryon completely forgot about his date and own pleasure to go see if his ''brother'' was okay. Another example is right after the incident and Mark was in the ambulance. All Mark wanted was for Bryon to stay with him and never leave until he was feeling better. These 2 simple examples demonstrate how close they are to eachother. Even though they are not blood related, Mark and Bryon love eachother so much and they certainly would never do anything to jeopardize their brother-like relationship.

5- I believe that the meaning of the title means that back then, you were in a different mindset, a different environement and in a different situation then right now. ''We were like brothers, not just you and me, but all of us together... And now everybody's kinda slipped away,...'' Another quote that demonstrates the title of the book : '' Like something is coming to an end because somethin' else is begining? ... Like now I couldn't care less about Angela, and I can remember when she seemed like the most important thing on earth.'' Obviously, we can observe from these quotes that especially by living in the streets, you will start realising how things rapidly change and your priorities become more and more important. Also, how you cannot change the past but can make a better futur and learn from the mistakes made in the past...

1.  I think that clearly, Marc and Bryon's world is different because they still have the same mentality from the 70's. They continu to think that there are and should be differences in the context of races. They treat people differently because they have been raised that way. It pretty much means that they will stand up for who they are and not tolerate any justice with people not similar to them. Obviously this causes a lot of racism and injustice in the society. A lot of violence can be anticipated for the majority of the novel.

2. Mike is a good man and does not care about different races. He has absolutely no trouble of helping the woman when she gets attacked. Unfortunetly, she was surrounded by black people so she could not demonstrate her feelings to the white man saving her. She had no choice to tell others to beat him up because of his color. She also had no choice to show that black people are better than the white. Back then they were treated differently and were established in different social classes.

3. In the second chapter, Mark learns all about Mike's story. After this, he tells him that if the same thing would have happened to him, he would never forgive the attacker. I personally believe that Mark will convince Mike to get his revenge on those black people. I also forshadow that Mark will get attacked by a gang. He will try his absolute best to get his revenge and not get played like that ever again.
